Medical Record Clerk

Review, respond, and produce records requests of risk manager, patients; insurance companies; providers; and legal examiners
Maintain telephonic communication regarding records requests of risk manager, patients; insurance companies; providers; and legal examiners
Prepare and maintain fee request letters for records
Monitor calendared Subpoenas for civil, criminal and administrative hearings and discover
Prepare Custodial Certification of RecordsoCompile records for production
Maintain records shipped/retrieved to/from off site storage vendor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS
oHigh school diploma or general educational development (GED)
o2 years' experience with Medical Records Management and Requests
oProficient in HIPAA regulations
oHave knowledge of Medical Terminology
oSelf-motivated and able to work independently
SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES
oAbility to make accurate and timely decisions
oAbility to prioritize multiple tasks
oAbility to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
oCompetent in basic computer skills
oAcumen for customer service
oProven commitment to timely follow-through of assignments and promised actions (meet deadlines)
oProven ability to appropriately take corrective action with direct reports when necessaryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
